From the beginning, this one Church has been marked by a great diversity which comes from both the variety of God’s gifts and the diversity of those who receive them. Within the unity of the People of God, a multiplicity of peoples and cultures is gathered together (CCC 814).
We are blessed with people of these beautiful diverse cultural backgrounds gathered in the local parish community of Sacred Heart, Holloway. On Sunday, 9th June, it was heart-warming meeting for Mass in our traditional clothes, and hearing each other praying in their particular languages. We thanked God for the gift of our unity by the Eucharistic celebration uniting ourselves with the heavenly liturgy in anticipation of eternal life (cf. CCC 1326).
We shared each other’s tasty cuisine while enjoying spectacular performances accompanied by traditional music and beautiful dancing moves in the social centre. By this love-feast we celebrated the cultural richness of our parish community.
